Hydrogen peroxide has been the primary agent for decontaminating sealed enclosures used for testing and manufacturing of sterile drug products for the past twenty (20) years. Significant advantages were realized over previous agents, such as peracetic acid, in terms of material compatibility and validatibility. However, limitations in process control, aeration efficiency, and product compatibility have led to research in new decontamination methods.
